The 2025 edition of the State of the World’s Nursing report provides a comprehensive and updated overview of the state of the nursing workforce. The report introduces new indicators for critical areas such as educational capacity, advanced nursing practices and remuneration. In addition to the 12 policy priorities set out in the Global Strategic Directions for Nursing and Midwifery 2021-2025, five new priorities and a compilation of WHO regional data have been added. Country-specific profiles with national data are also available for download on the organization’s website.
