A Motion of Applause and Recognition is a formal instrument used by the Legislative Branch (such as City Councils and Legislative Assemblies) to publicly honor individuals, groups, or institutions that have provided relevant services or distinguished themselves through actions with a significant positive impact on society. On May 26, 2026, the Rio de Janeiro City Council held a session to commemorate the 80th anniversary of ABEN/RJ and to grant motions to the Nursing community, promoted by Councilor Tainá de Paula. Professor and academic Osnir Claudiano delivered the commemorative speech and was honored with the award.
