The display of dolls depicting the attire of key figures in the history of nursing worldwide, in Brazil, and in the state of Espírito Santo was conceived by Professor Dr. Roseane Vargas Rohr as part of the extension project "Images of Life: Art, Health, History." Started in 2007, the collection comprises over 50 dolls representing nursing professionals at different points in history. It is an educational tool in the history of nursing that uses art in the health education process, aiming to spark students' interest in the history of the profession and strengthen the appreciation of the historical and cultural heritage of nursing. The collection was donated by Professor Roseane to the Center for Memories of the Nursing Course at the Federal University of Espírito Santo (Cemenf-Ufes) in 2024 and is on permanent public display in the Nursing Department building at Ufes, in the Health Sciences Center in Maruípe, Vitória-ES. In 2026, the collection was expanded, with one of the key figures included being Professor Dr. Joel Rolim Mancia, president of Abradhenf.

“On May 19, 2025, I participated in Abradhenf's Nursing Week, presenting a collection of dolls about the history of Nursing, at the invitation of Professor Dr. Joel Rolim Mancia. During the presentation, he challenged me to increase male representation in the profession, since most of the dolls in the collection are women. Upon receiving the invitation from the Brazilian Nursing Association of Rio Grande do Sul (ABEn-RS), I decided to pay tribute to Professor Dr. Joel as a representative of Nursing in Rio Grande do Sul, recognizing the importance of his historical trajectory in the struggles for the appreciation of the profession. His contributions to teaching, research, his publications, and his work in the category's professional associations are a source of great pride and honor for Brazilian Nursing, and having him in our showcase is a way to recognize his merit and important legacy for our profession,” said Professor Dr. Roseane Vargas Rohr.
